Why did Adam's one sin affect everyone? Because Adam wasn't just one man.

He was our representative. God appointed Adam to represent the whole human race.

The good news is that God sent another Representative. Paul calls him the Last Adam.

Just as Adam represented us in his disobedience, Jesus represents everyone who trusts in him through His perfect obedience. 

Who do you belong to? Who is your representative? The first Adam or the Last Adam?

We are all sinners. We sin every day, don't we?

By nature, we are represented by the first Adam. Because of Adam's sin, we are born into a world of sin and death.

We cannot represent the Last Adam, Jesus, on our own.

But here is the amazing news. Jesus willingly came to be our Representative.

While we were still sinners, while we were heading toward destruction, Christ came to take our place.

He took upon himself our humanity and bore the punishment for our sin so that we could receive his righteousness and have eternal life.

Jesus is our Representative.

That means we belong to Jesus. So the way we act shows who we belong to and who we follow, doesn't it?

Just like wearing a school uniform shows which school you belong to, the way we live shows that we belong to Jesus.

When people see us, they should see Jesus in the way we love, speak, and serve others.
